Theoretical part:
The Course follows the study sections:
1. Scenography (Introduction to Scenography - Scenographers - Scenography and Visual Arts, Scenography and Theater Design, Performance Design)
2. Directing (Introduction to Directing - Directors- Director and Scenographer, Theatre Design and Dramaturgy)
3. Introduction to Theater (Theatre Design and art, Performance and Performance Art)
4. Space (Transformations of space, light and shadow - color and composition, space and time)
5. Body and space (Costume in performance, Dance, actor dancer and performer, dynamic relationship between body and space, Performance space)
6. Other issues: Poetic of space, Metamorphosis in theater, Scenography in Films , Theater No - Kabuki, Space and time in Byzantine Art , Semiotics of theater, Children's theater, Masks, Dolls, Shadow Theater, Scenography in Opera, New Media, Digital Scenography, etc.)
7. Implementation of a proposal (Stage materials)
8. Introduction to Lighting Design
Practical part:
The practical part based in artistic research. The study areas:
From text to space. Theatrical texts are based on a theme. (For example: Forest, house, water, environment, etc. texts suggested by students)
Procedure for studying a proposal.
Research, a journey in the text (dramaturgy and scenography) / artistic research
Creating a free project (optional) – no text based project
Workshops (Transformations of space, Narrative spaces, Color and composition, body and space, etc.)
Model boxes in scale, 3d constructions, designs, sketches, story boards, videos etc.
Creating a Portfolio
Implementation of scenographic and costume proposal (materials, application, lighting).
The completion of the Scenographic and Costume Design proposals of each student ,at the end of each Academic Year, exhibited at the final LSA graduate Exhibition.
During the year, videos and slides (often rare) are shown in the fields of the program.
Bibliography and detailed notes are given, accompanying the sections of the program
During the year, distinguished practitioners visiting LSA, with lectures, seminars and workshops in order to give students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and exchange thoughts.
